Built to last. Built to be recognised.
Some businesses grow by chasing the next big thing.
Jonesco have been doing that for close to 60 years. It started with steel mudguards for vehicles, where they became well regarded in the field.
Over time, materials shifted from steel to plastic, capabilities expanded, and the product range moved well beyond vehicles.
What they make today spans commercial vehicle components, fire safety equipment, and environmental protection products like spill containment systems and beyond.
Recently we had the opportunity to sit down with Bhavna Mistry, Jonesco’s Head of Product Management to learn more about where Jonesco has been, and where they’re going.

Jonesco was founded back in 1967, Jonesco’s first site is situated in an old mill in the New Hall Lane area next Preston City Centre. Pictured above Jonesco sites in the 60s and 70s.
Steady Growth
Jonesco now exports a wide range of it’s products to more than 60 countries and operates across the UK and Europe, with a growing presence in North America.

The Jonesco of today now boasts enviable manufacturing and warehousing backed by a team that are world-renowned for their expertise.
Where branding earns its place
Earlier on in Jonesco’s history the product did most of the talking. In their original markets, the name carried weight simply because people knew it.
As the business moved into new areas, that changed slightly.
When customers don’t already know who you are, your branding needs to start to do something more. It helps people recognise what they’re looking at and gives them a bit of confidence before they’ve even used the product.
As Bhavna put it:
“A strong brand makes it easier to step into new markets because people associate the name with quality, even if the product itself is new to them”.

When branding has a job to do
There are also cases where branding needs to do more than identify.
A recent fire blanket box developed with Bridgehill is a good example. It needed to be robust and look right, but it also had to clearly show people what to do in an emergency.
In that situation, labelling isn’t just there to carry a logo. It’s there to guide action.
Looking ahead
Jonesco continues to expand into new areas, including first aid and public safety equipment, driven in part by new regulations in the UK around emergency preparedness in public spaces
It’s familiar territory in a way. Products that need to be durable, visible, and easy to understand when it matters. Here at PSI Brand we look forward to continuing to support Jonesco, now, and into the future.
